Once the rush we had finally settled Austin(coworker) all of a sudden remembered this bill and grabbed it out of my til so he could actually read it and then he showed it to me and honestly all I read was the “Black Votes Matter” and I snatched it from him and told him that because it was in my til that it meant that I get dibs. Lol also yes I did exchange change that I had in the bottom of purse for this dollar otherwise that would be considered stealing if I would have just taken it... just wanted to clarify that. But anyways the moral of my story as to why I wanted this dollar so badly after I had only read that part of the stamp is because of actually 2 reasons 1. Is because I have 3 AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL,& BRILLIANT mixed children and I’ve always told and taught them about our country’s African-American history and how far it has come but what’s sad is that 2 of these 3 are ages 10 & 11 and when we do and have had these conversations and my CHILDREN are saying and going on about how “ yeah it has come really far but yet it’s like there is always going to be some sort of judgement directed towards us just because my skins a little darker” after he had said that I was somewhat shocked and was at a loss for words because he is probably right and that’s what’s sad the fact that an 11 year old that has his whole life ahead of him and just the idea of not even just him but millions to billions to trillions of other kids just like him have grown up in this country that has come so far throughout history are having to also learn/inherit this kind of knowledge as well all just because their skin is a little darker.... no person and especially no children at that age should never have to think like that or have that mind frame or even have those kinds of worries and concerns when they think about what their future may bring they are kids and we need to really start letting them be kids!!!! Okay sorry really didn’t mean to go off on a rant like that but I needed to let it out and I even cut it down lol but anyways the #2 reason why I wanted it was because it reminded me of my fiancé and it brought back a memory of us and so yeah long story short as soon as Austin showed it to me I had to have it.... it wasn’t until like 3-4 hours later I pull the bill out of my pocket and actually really looked at it and that’s when I seen the if you find this let me know stamp so of course I had to research what it meant and now here we are!!!
